40g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
25g cocoa powder
140g plain chocolate, broken into small pieces
3 medium eggs
225g castor sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
80g mayonnaise
30g Stork Baking Margarine
55g walnuts, toasted and chopped
2 tbsp red food colouring gel
Step by step method
- Grease tray, set oven at 160ºC.
- Sift flour with baking powder and cocoa.
- Melt chocolate with the Stork Bake.
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs with sugar and vanilla until slightly thickened. Whisk in chocolate mixture and red food colouring.
- Fold in flour mixture, mayonnaise, and chopped walnuts.
- Pour into the prepared tray and bake for about 30 - 35 minutes.
- Leave to cool before cutting into squares.
