Cinnamon and Apple Scones

40g Stork Baking Margarine
500ml cake flour
15ml baking powder
1ml salt
125ml plain yoghurt
60ml waterÂ
1 egg, lightly beaten
40g finely grated apple
5ml cinnamon

Step by step method

  1. Preheat the oven to 240ºC and grease your baking tray.
  2. Sift all the dry ingredients together.
  3. Rub in Stork Bake quickly and lightly until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  4. Beat together the yoghurt, water and half the egg then stir in the grated apple.
  5. Pour the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients and mix to make a dough.
  6. Pat out the dough to 3cm thickness and cut into rounds using a glass or cookie cutter.
  7. Brush the top with remaining egg.
  8. Place on a greased baking tray and bake for 12 - 15 minutes.
