Yeast Ingredients

7g yeast
1tsp sugar
125ml warm water

Bread Ingredients

4cups flour
1tsp salt
1tsp sugar
125ml warm milk
125ml warm water
60ml Stork Baking Margarine, melted

Step by step method

  1. Mix the yeast, sugar and warm water in a bowl, sprinkle with some flour and leave to froth.
  2. In another bowl, mix ingredients together with the yeast mixture.
  3. Stir with a spoon and turn onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, adding flour. The dough should be soft, but not sticky.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and a cloth and leave in a warm place to rise and double in size.
  5. Place on a floured surface. Knock back and knead lightly.
  6. Shape the dough into a loaf, bread rolls, focaccia or pizza base. Place on a greased oven tray and allow to double in size.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven 150 - 180°C until golden and when you tap the bottom it sounds hollow.
