Ingredients

Main Ingredient Group

250g Stork Baking Margarine
125ml white sugar
10ml vanilla essence
625ml flour, sifted
1 Pinch of salt
3ml baking powder
3ml ground mixed spice
5ml ground cinnamon/nutmeg
1 Brown sugar for rolling

Step by step method

  1. Cream the Stork Bake and white sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the vanilla essence and mix well. Lastly add the sifted dry ingredients and work to form a stiff dough.
  3. Form the mixture into balls. Roll each ball in the brown sugar and then place them on a greased baking sheet.
  4. To flatten, press down with a fork or your thumb.
  5. Bake at 180°C for 15 - 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
