Ingredients
Loaf Ingredients
185g Stork Baking Margarine
185g castor sugar
3 extra-large eggs
185g cake flour
1 tbsps cocoa powder
1 ½ tsp baking powder
2 tbsps water
Finely grated rind of 2 oranges
Brandy Syrup Ingredients
¾ cup sugar
1 tbsp Stork Baking Margarine
½ cup water
¼ cup brandy
Orange Sauce Ingredients (alternate to brandy syrup)
2 oranges
125g sugar
Step by step method
- Preheat oven to 180ºC.
- Cream Stork Bake margarine and castor sugar very well until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add the orange rind and fold in the sifted dry ingredients alternately with the water.
- Bake in the oven for about 60 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
- Cool slightly.
- Cut slits across the top of the cake and drizzle the sauce over so that it soaks in.
- Boil the ingredients together for 5 minutes.
- Mix the juice of 2 oranges with 125g sugar.
