½ a recipe of the Stork Beat ân Bake vanilla cake
750ml icing sugar
90ml cold water
Food colouring, optional
Step by step method
- Make ½ a batch of Stork Beat ân Bake vanilla cake, baked in a 22 x 34 cm lamington pan.
- When cool, cut into the size squares or rectangles that you would like.
- Loosely brush the crumbs off the sides of the squares or rectangles.
- Mix together the icing sugar and cold water until smooth and then colour if required.
- Place the squares or rectangles well apart from each other on a wire cake cooler over a baking tray.
- Place about 2 tablespoons of the glace icing into a small glass jug.
- Warm in the microwave until it is of a pourable consistency.
- Pour that over the cakes one at a time. Two spoons does one square.
- Leave to drip off, scrape the icing off the tray back into the jug, heat again and pour over square.
- Repeat until the cake is nicely covered, adding more icing from your main batch each time.
- Decorate as required.
