Ingredients
Main Ingredient Group
1 cup each of brown flour, brown sugar, rice crispies, oats and coconut
1 tsp mixed spice
0.5 tsp salt (optional)
1 tbsp honey
100g Stork Baking Margarine
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tbsp hot water
Step by step method
- Place all dry ingredients except bicarbonate of soda into a large bowl and blend well together.
- Melt the Stork Bake and honey together, either in a microwave for 1 minute or on stove until bubbling.
- In a cup, mix bicarbonate of soda and hot water. Immediately add to melted Stork Bake and honey mixture. It should foam up and thicken.
- Stir into dry mixture to form a dryish, crumbly mix.
- Grease a baking tin, about 40 x 25 cm. Even out crumbly mixture in baking tin.
- Bake for 20 minutes at 160°C
- Take out of the oven and cut into squares immediately but leave in the baking tin until cold. Break up and keep in an airtight container.
