Ingredients

250g Stork Baking Margarine
625ml sugar
60ml vegetable oil
2 eggs
2000ml flour
10ml baking powder
375ml desiccated coconut
7 cardamom pods, finely pounded
5ml naartjie peel, finely pounded
1 Walnuts for garnishing
Step by step method
- Cream the Stork Bake and sugar. Add oil and mix well. Beat eggs separately, then beat into creamed mixture.
- Sift flour and baking powder. Add coconut, cardamom and naartjie peel.
- Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and mix to a dough that can be rolled out. Roll out on floured surface to 5mm thickness.
- Print a pattern on the dough with a fork and cut into squares. Decorate with a walnut in the centre of each square.
- Place on a greased baking tray and bake at 180°C for 15 - 20 minutes. Loosen biscuits and cool on wire rack.
