500g Stork Baking Margarine
1 cup castor sugar
1 tsp ground cardamom
½ tsp nutmeg
1½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
3 cups flour
Unblanched split almonds as needed

Step by step method

  1. Preheat oven to 160ºC.
  2. Cut Stork Bake into cubes and place in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the sugar and beat until light and creamy.
  4. Beat in the spices and bicarb.
  5. Sift in flour as needed to make a soft dough.
  6. Make marble size balls and place onto a baking tray – allow for spreading.
  7. Place a piece of almond on each of the balls.
  8. Bake for 20 - 22 minutes until lightly coloured.
  9. Remove tray from oven and leave biscuits on tray to cool.
  10. Store in airtight containers.
