Ingredients

Bar Ingredients

125ml Stork Baking Margarine
250ml brown sugar, packed
5ml salt
2.5ml bicarbonate of soda
15ml lemon zest
375ml flour
250ml quick-cooking rolled oat
1can sweetened condensed milk

Icing Ingredients

500ml icing sugar
30ml Stork Baking Margarine, softened
15ml lemon zest
60ml lemon juice

Step by step method

  1. Cream together Stork Bake, sugar, salt and bicarbonate of soda.
  2. Blend in the remaining bar ingredients.
  3. Spread in a well-greased and floured 25 x 30 cm pan.
  4. Bake at 180°C for 20 - 25 minutes or until light golden brown.
  5. Combine all icing ingredients, and beat until smooth and creamy, adding more juice to make it a spreadable consistency.
  6. Drizzle the icing mixture over the bars while still hot.
  7. Allow to cool completely.
