135g Stork Baking Margarine
140g plain chocolate, broken into small pieces
3 medium eggs
225g sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
40g plain / all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
25g cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
55g finely chopped walnuts
Step by step method
- Preheat the oven to 160°C.
- Place the Stork Bake and the chocolate into a heatproof bowl over a saucepan with hot water on a low heat and leave until melted (alternatively, microwave on medium power / heat, stirring occasionally, until just melted). Stir until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar and vanilla until slightly thickened. Whisk in the chocolate mixture.
- Sieve the flour, baking powder, cocoa and a pinch of salt over the bowl and fold into the batter. Finally fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared cake tin. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 - 50 minutes until cooked. Cool in the tin before cutting into squares.
