Yeast cake

A type of cake made by using the baker\’s yeast. It consists of water or milk, flour, sugar and eggs. The yeast under the influence of warm liquid (water or milk) starts growing and processing sugar into alcoholic fermentation products (alcohol, carbon dioxide). The released gas expands and loosens the dough (the dough rises). They are used while making yeast rolls, doughnuts, buns, cakes with fruit, cheese, or savory stuffing. The yeast dough prepared without eggs is used for making pizza.
