Baklava

It is a very sweet dessert popular in Greece, Turkey, Armenia and the Balkan countries. It is made of layers of filo pastry filled with honey and walnuts or almonds. Baklava is topped with frosting or syrup made of sugar, honey, water, lemon juice and sprinkled with finely chopped pistachio nuts. Served as the culmination of a meal with a cup of strong coffee or tea.
